FAT, SICK AND NEARLY DEAD: How Watching This Documentary and Juicing Could Change Your Life Forever

If you’ve ever seen me with a green juice in hand and wondered why I started juicing, this one’s for you. Juicing has become a big part of my life, and I can’t help but rave about my favorite spot on the North Shore—The Green Fork in Covington. If you haven’t been yet, it’s time to add it to your list! Trust me, it’s a must-visit for fresh, vibrant juices that are packed with goodness.

How It All Started

Juicing wasn’t always a part of my daily routine, but it became a game-changer when I started to focus on filling nutritional gaps and staying consistent with clean eating. If you’re new to juicing, it might feel intimidating or even strange at first—but it’s worth it. Over time, it becomes second nature, and the benefits are undeniable.

One thing that inspired me to dive into juicing was the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. Have you seen it? Joe Cross’s story is incredible—he used juicing to completely transform his health through a 60-day cleanse, healing chronic conditions, losing weight, and reclaiming his energy. It’s a powerful reminder of what whole, nutrient-packed foods can do for your body. You can watch it for free on YouTube here.

It’s a must-watch if you’re considering adding juicing to your lifestyle.

Why Juicing?

For me, juicing isn’t about weight loss. It’s about boosting my nutrition, supporting my health, and feeling incredible from the inside out. Even when I’m eating well, it’s easy to miss certain vitamins and minerals in my daily meals. Juicing helps fill those gaps in a delicious and refreshing way.

And let’s not forget—it’s also a way to get creative and have fun with flavors! I love experimenting with different ingredients to create my own blends, but when I’m not in the mood to DIY, The Green Fork is my go-to. Their juices are fresh, flavorful, and made with love.

My Favorite Juices and First Juicer

At The Green Fork, I’m always discovering new favorites, but I tend to gravitate towards their green juices. They’re vibrant, nutrient-dense, and perfect for a midday energy boost. If you’re in Covington, stop by and grab one! And if you’re a juicing newbie, start with something simple and refreshing like a cucumber-based juice—it’s light, hydrating, and easy to love.

At home, I use a beginner-friendly juicer that’s easy to clean and works like a dream. It’s perfect for making fresh juices when I can’t make it to my favorite juice bar. I’ll share the exact one I use soon, so stay tuned!

Let’s Juice Together!

If you’ve been thinking about juicing, I encourage you to start small. Try one juice a day and see how you feel—you might be surprised at the difference it makes. Have you seen Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead? If so, let me know what you thought! And if you’re local to the North Shore, head to The Green Fork and tell me your favorite juice—I’m always up for trying something new.
